All Life Without Barriers systems and process were reviewed over the past 12 months, with many improvements completed and others commenced. Some key improvements include the following achievements:

CIRTS System Enhancements

A series of major enhancements to LWB’s client data management system known as CIRTS (Client Information Recording and Tracking System) was rolled out over the last year. These enhancements aid our frontline staff in managing client and family input, undertaking client planning, case plan management, client outcome reporting and enhanced monitoring of service delivery for caseload management. Improved reporting capabilities for our funders were also released as well as enhanced remote access to the CIRTS system to ensure we can support our clients at all times, from any location.

Connect4 Program

During the year we completed the first phase of a major program to upgrade many of our core business systems. This program will provide significant future cost savings to LWB and in parallel support our ongoing growth and diversification. Phase one was completed in June with the launch of the Aurion payroll system. The foundation has also been put in place for future phases of the Connect4 program which will include a new labour management system as well as an enhanced Human Resource Information System (HRIS).

Aged Care Services Alignment

All LWB aged care services have been aligned under a single national portfolio to ensure consistency, quality standards and provide opportunities for service development and improvement across states. This includes implementation of the TRACCS (Time Recording and Client Care System) program to support reliable and consistent reporting across LWB and to funding bodies.

Human Resource and Finance Operating Models

LWB has commenced a detailed review of our operating models for the Human Resource and Finance functions. The evolving operating models will maximise the support provided to our frontline service providers and at the same time recognise efficiencies via inclusion of shared service elements. The revised operating models will continue to be defined and rolled out over the next year.

Technology Infrastructure Outsourcing

A major element of the LWB technology plan for 2013 – 2014 was the migration of LWBs aging data centre infrastructure to an outsourced cloud based solution. A cloud based solution provides a cost effective and state-of-the-art technology infrastructure that will allow LWB to quickly scale our system as we continue our growth journey. The outsourcing program was completed within the year with no major service interruption.

Fleet Management

A program was commenced to insource LWBs fleet of more than 1,100 vehicles. The direct management of the fleet will enable LWB to improve safety for clients and staff, significantly reduce the fleet cost to the organisation, and provide greater flexibility to respond to the changing needs of our funders. As part of our fleet management program a three-year partnership agreement was signed with Volkswagen. LWB is grateful to Volkswagen for the partnership and its desire to be associated with us.
